Rooted. Rising. Reclaiming.
The 2026 Filipino Day Grand Parade marked a meaningful milestone as Kalayaan 1521 commemorated five years since the inaugural Filipino Day Grand Parade in 2021. Held in celebration of the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence under the theme "Rooted. Rising. Reclaiming.", the event welcomed thousands of participants, performers, organizations, businesses, dignitaries, volunteers, and supporters to Albany, New York.
The day's festivities featured the annual Independence Parade March, a vibrant Cultural Presentation and Street Fair, and live performances celebrating the richness and diversity of Filipino heritage. Community members and visitors gathered to enjoy Filipino cuisine, local businesses, cultural traditions, and entertainment while honoring the enduring contributions of the Filipino-American community.
As the sixth Filipino Day Grand Parade, the 2026 celebration reflected Kalayaan 1521's continued commitment to preserving Filipino heritage, strengthening community connections, and creating a lasting legacy for future generations.
